The Arkansas Association of Alternative Educators is an organization whose membership is made up of teachers and administrators responsible for providing effective education programs in alternative environments through out the state.
A.A.A.E. has three main goals:
- Provide an instrument through which educators can communicate and network statewide with other Alternative Educators.
- Gather and disseminate information which is relevant to Alternative Educators.
- Provide a unified voice for Alternative Education practitioners in Arkansas.
I have had the opportunity the past four years to serve as a board member for our district on the AAAE board. During this time, I have witnessed throughout the state the impact members of this organization have had on our students. The dedication of all teachers, para-professionals, and administrators have given toward "our" kids is so gratifying.
I am very optimistic that AAAE will move from the "best kept secret in Arkansas", as past president Debbie Faubus-Kendrick has often stated, to one of the key players in providing opportunities for all of "our" students. Continue to visit with local administrators, school boards and legislators on the impact you are having on the lives of "our" students.
I look forward to the continued growth of this organization. Thanks to the efforts of ADE Advisor Lori Lamb, Arkansas is at the fore-front of alternative education in the nation.
Please feel free to contact me or your Board Representative at any time. Our e-mail addresses are listed on the website.
Sincerely,
Gregg Grant
